Anyone willing to enter the UK to study on a student visa must pay the surcharge. Paying the IHS allows you to use the National Health Service in the UK.

The UK has two main intakes also known as a semester in some universities. September to October is the Autumn Intake and January to February is the Spring Intake. The third intake is the Summer intake (June to August) which is available only for specific programs.

The surcharge for a student would cost £470 for each year that you are in the UK. A student would be charged £235 for a period of 1-6 months and £470 for 6-12 months based on the accommodation. For example, if you are doing a 12-month Masters course the charges would be £705. This is because your visa will be issued for a total of 16-17 months.

The application fee for the visa from outside the UK would cost £348. You must pay an additional £348 per person for any dependents.

Tier 4 (Child) student visa
The application fee for a Tier 4 (Child) student visa from outside the UK is £348. The healthcare surcharge is an additional cost.

Short-term study visa
It costs:
· £97 for a 6-month visa
· £186 for an 11-month visa

A CAS is a virtual document that is issued by the licensed student sponsor. It is an official offer of a place on a course of study. Licensed student sponsors use a secure IT system called the sponsorship management system (SMS) to assign a CAS. Once the student receives an unconditional offer letter from the university and pays the security deposit for their admission, a CAS letter is assigned.

Each CAS has a unique reference number linked to the CAS checking service that stores the applicant’s information.

The applicant must submit a CAS with their application.

A Statement of Purpose (SOP) is an essay mentioning the reason to apply for a particular course in a particular university. This essay is a gist of who you are, your career choices, and how ready you are to pursue a certain course in an institution.
The document helps the universities in understanding the candidate’s life, goals, and career path. Thus, the student should discuss the past incidents that have influenced their career choices and the reason to choose the particular college in the particular university.

Introduction of SOP: 1st Paragraph:

Mention your long-term goals and the reason for pursuing the course you are applying to.
Mention your understanding of the chosen field and how you would like to contribute to this field.
Explain your background in few lines and let them know your future goals.

SOP 2nd and 3rd Paragraphs: Academic Background and Professional Experience This reveals your academic background – your past achievements, your current persuasions, your academic strengths, projects are undertaken, and industrial exposure.

SOP 4th Paragraph: Why This Course?You should discuss the reason to join the course and the modules you prefer to join during the course.

SOP 5th Paragraph: Career Goals and Objectives This is the crucial paragraph where you should discuss your goals. You must mention where you would want to work right after completing this course. Do mention a few companies within India along with the designation you see yourself working at. This will explain the kind of job profile you are looking for.

SOP 6th Paragraph: Why This University?You must convince a university as to how they are suitable for your profile and how you are an ideal candidate for their university. Discuss the course curriculum, faculty names, research work, and the university-specific activities which would help you in enhancing your profile.

Closing Paragraph of SOPHere, you should express your desire towards joining the chosen course. You should sound more confident and firm in joining the course and the university as this is the closing paragraph. Add a few lines that show your zest to succeed in life with the help of the chosen course and university.

An unconditional offer letter from a recognized educational institute/college/university for pursuing a course with a licensed Tier 4 sponsor is a must. You must also have proof of appropriate funds to support yourself and for the course.

A. If you are a national from the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you require a visa to pursue your higher education in the UK. Students from all other nationalities need to have a valid UK student visa to study in the UK.

A. You can apply for a Short-Term Study Visa if you are going for a short-term say less than six months.

If your course lasts more than 6 months then you can come to the UK for up to one month before your course starts. If your course lasts 6 months or less then you can come to the UK up to one week before the beginning of your course.

One can apply for a study visa 3 months before the start of their course. Candidates usually get a revert on their visa within 3 weeks.
